Carlos V. Duno

Chief Executive Officer and Owner

Carlos is Chief Executive Officer and Owner of The Hire Firm, specializing in executive recruitment and business consulting.

His experience is deep and diverse. In the 80’s and 90’s, Carlos served in senior domestic and international management roles with Scott Paper Company. His early career included international assignments with McKinsey and Co. and Eli Lilly. In the late 90’s, Carlos served at Vitro S.A., a $3-billion multinational glass company in Monterrey, Mexico, as President of Business Development and Planning. He was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clean Fuels Technology, a leading developer of emulsified fuels for transportation and power generation. Since 2003 he’s been a Director of Libbey, Inc., a publicly traded company. And since 2004 he’s been the Owner and President of CDuno Coaching and Consulting, providing management consulting and coaching services.

Originally from Mexico City, Carlos has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the National University of Mexico, as well as a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, and an MBA, both from Columbia University, New York. He is also a Certified Executive Coach, trained at the Hudson Institute in Santa Barbara.

Silas Peterson

Chief Operating Officer and Owner

As Chief Operating Officer and Owner of The Hire Firm, Silas is primarily focused on executive recruitment.

His recent industry experience includes hospitality and food services, financial services, non-profits, education, gaming, construction, tribal governments, energy, healthcare, and construction, in the functional areas of finance and accounting, operations, executive management, customer service, and administration. Silas holds the SPHR (Senior Professional of Human Resources) designation from SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Management. He’s also an American Staffing Association designated CSP (Certified Staffing Professional) and holds the PRC, CIR, ACIR, CSSR, and CDR certifications from AIRS, the global leader in recruitment training. Silas has a Master’s Degree in Eastern Philosophy.

Abby Dietz

Account Manager

Abby is originally from Pennsylvania and has made Santa Fe her home for the last three years. She has a strong background in sales and customer service that she has effectively used to become a very successful staffing and recruiting manager over the last three years. Abby has a fantastic ability to quickly understand clients’ needs and match those needs with talented candidates. Abby focuses on temporary staffing and filling permanent jobs for administrative and clerical positions as well as middle management.

Guillermo Yañez

Executive Recruiter

Guillermo Yañez was born and raised right here in New Mexico.  Guillermo spent the first fifteen years of his career working as a paramedic in Albuquerque.  While working in EMS, Guillermo attended college and graduated with a degree in computer science and moved his career to database programming and systems administration.  For fifteen years he worked in Information Technology for some great companies, like Presbyterian Medical Services, the State of New Mexico Supreme Court, Lockheed Martin and PNM.

Guillermo has been working as an executive recruiter in New Mexico for three years and enjoys finding outstanding employees for great companies.  He believes that great professional relationships create great business relationships.  His nearly twenty years of experience in IT comes in handy when helping companies find the right technology professionals.
